Terms & Conditions
By scheduling with Zoe Foster at The Gracious Touch, you acknowledge that, in my commitment to providing a unique and outstanding integrative massage experience to all of my clients, and out of consideration for my time as a therapist, I have adopted the following policies:
-
BOOKING: I schedule BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. I do not take walk-ins. It is strongly encouraged/preferred to book in advance. Same-day appointments are rarely available, especially for new clients. A credit card on file is required to book an appointment.
-
CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY: If you need to cancel or reschedule your OFFICE BASED appointment, kindly contact me with at least 48 hours notice. In order to cancel/reschedule your appointment with NO charge, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. If you cancel within 24 hours of our appointment (or for no-call/no-shows) your card on file will be charged 100% of your scheduled service. These charges will be based on the full, non-discounted rate of the service scheduled. For extenuating circumstances, you may request an exception, which will be granted or denied at my discretion only.
-
OUTCALL cancellation time frames vary depending on the number of therapists scheduled for the event, and generally, cancellations or deletions within seven days of the event are charged at 50% of the scheduled services. Outcall cancellations or deletions within 24 hours are charged at 100% of the scheduled services. Any exceptions to this cancellation policy are granted solely at the discretion of the scheduled therapist(s).
-
TIMELINESS POLICY: Please arrive for your office based appointment 10 or more minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. This time can be used to get settled, use the restroom if needed, and to check in and have our pre-session intake. All services offered have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. If you are running late, please call or text me at 707.800.9580 to let me know as soon as possible. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate appointments following yours. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for payment amount of the full session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be timely.
-
METHODS OF PAYMENT: I accept cash/check/credit cards/Venmo/PayPal and Zelle. For card payments, I reserve the right to charge a convenience fee no greater than the amount of fees the processor imposes upon me to accept your card. Non card transactions are highly preferred. If a check bounces, your credit card on file will be charged, plus a $32 fee.
-
CONFIDENTIALITY: Our sessions and your health history are ALWAYS completely confidential. I will not release this information (with the exception listed below) unless I am legally subpoenaed.
-
Be aware, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety requires all businesses which provide massage in Rohnert Park to reveal, on demand by code compliance officers, names, addresses and other personally identifying health information. By booking with Zoe Foster at the Gracious Touch, you confirm your understanding that we are required to break federal HIPAA laws to be allowed to practice massage in Rohnert Park.
-
HEALTH/LIABILITY: As a health care practitioner I ask that you do not come for your session if you have a contagious illness. Massage can exacerbate certain illnesses, and any contagious illness can put me and my other clients at risk for infection. While I am vaccinated and boosted for many contagious illnesses (including Covid-19) it is courteous and safer for us all to reschedule when you are ill (I will do us the same courtesy). I ask that you arrive to your session with good hygiene and cleanliness. It's best not to arrive to your session with a very full stomach as you may experience discomfort with body positioning during the session. For your safety, I ask that you do not come to your session under the influence of drugs or alcohol as these things may interfere with your body's ability to receive the work.
-
For Ortho-Bionomy® sessions, please wear or bring clothing with allows full range of motion (something in which you could comfortably sleep or work out). Ortho-Bionomy® is generally a clothed modality and I do not always have appropriate clothing on hand for every body size. As a gift to us both, our initial Ortho-Bionomy® session includes an extra few minutes (occasionally up to 30 minutes) in which we discuss your health history and the potential outcomes of our session. Please be aware, and include that time in your planning for the remainder of your day.
-
What to expect of a typical massage session: Appointment times vary from 60– 120 minutes and each session will begin with a brief intake. Following our intake I will leave the treatment room to allow you privacy as you undress to your comfort level, and get on the table under the sheets. I will knock before entering the treatment room to ensure that you are ready for the session to begin. Your privacy and comfort are my utmost concerns, you will be professionally draped at all times during the session and only the part of the body being worked will be uncovered. Your modesty will be respected at all times. You can expect a peaceful and comfortable environment for your massage.
-
COMMUNICATION is the key to successful sessions. I will check in with you throughout our time together regarding pressure, techniques and comfort levels. If at any time you feel discomfort, if you find yourself wanting a different level of pressure or a different technique, please communicate those things to me so that I can adjust our work accordingly. I ask that you pay attention to your body, noting any changes that you experience during and following your session.
-
SCOPE OF PRACTICE: If a client presents with something out of my scope of practice I will refer that client to another professional who is qualified to address the concern. As a bodyworker I am not able to diagnose. I always have the best interest of my clients in mind and will recommend another appropriate provider whenever necessary.
-
SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS AND BEHAVIOR: I regard each human as whole, perfect and complete- lacking nothing. As such, my business is a safe space for EVERYONE, including the LBTBQIA+ community. If you practice racism, hatred or prejudice, you must do so outside of my awareness- I have a zero tolerance policy for unkindness.
-
THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP and the right to refuse services: The massage therapist/client relationship is strictly therapeutic in nature. Sexual, abusive, and/or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and will lead to termination of the session. In such cases, payment in full for the session will absolutely be required. I reserve the right to refuse services to anyone, and if you act in an inappropriate manner, you will not be allowed to book or receive future services with Zoe Foster, the Gracious Touch, or any affiliated therapists.
